Democrats Assert White House Rejecting Government Closure Discussions as Chief Executive Restates Warning of Firings

A senior White House advisor has suggested that mass layoffs of federal staff could commence if the chief executive decides that talks to conclude the administration stoppage are "totally going nowhere|making no progress|stalled completely}."

Kevin Hassett stated to CNN that he still perceived a possibility that Democratic lawmakers would yield, but mentioned that Trump was "getting ready to act|take action|intervene" if necessary.

Deadlocked Discussions

No substantial evidence of discussions have emerged between legislative leaders since Trump convened with them the previous week. The closure commenced on the first of October, after upper chamber Democrats voted against a short-term funding measure that would keep federal agencies operational through to November 21st.

"Democrats have chosen not to speak with us," Senate Democratic leader the Senate minority leader told CBS, asserting the deadlock could be solved only by further negotiations between Trump and the four congressional leaders.

Political Allegations

The Republican House speaker claimed Democrats of being "not serious" in talks to resolve the federal government closure, while the Democratic representative blamed GOP lawmakers of causing the shutdown.
